Canada Life With Zaki is an independent documentary media platform based in Ontario, Canada. The project is dedicated to recording and preserving real immigrant experiences as they are lived , without simplification, without filters, and without reducing them to success-only narratives.

By accessing, viewing, or participating in this platform, you agree to the following terms.

Terms of Use & Media Policy

1. Agreement of Terms

By accessing or engaging with Canada Life With Zaki, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and Media Policy.

Canada Life With Zaki is an independent documentary media platform dedicated to preserving real immigrant experiences across Canada. Your use of this platform constitutes acceptance of these terms, including our policies on intellectual property, media participation, monetization, and liability.

If you do not agree with these terms, you must discontinue use of this platform.

2. Media Ownership & Intellectual Property

All documentary footage, interviews, photographs, written content, branding materials, graphics, and digital assets published under Canada Life With Zaki are the exclusive intellectual property of Canada Life With Zaki and its Producer.

Unauthorized downloading, reproduction, redistribution, editing, commercial exploitation, or derivative use of this content is strictly prohibited without prior written authorization.

All rights are reserved under applicable Canadian and international copyright laws.

3. Community Guidelines & Conduct

Canada Life With Zaki is committed to documenting authentic immigrant journeys with integrity and respect.

Users agree to:

  • Engage respectfully in comments and discussions

  • Avoid harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or defamatory statements

  • Refrain from impersonation or misuse of participant identities

We reserve the right to remove comments, restrict access, or block users who violate these standards

4. Documentary Subject Media Policy

All participants appearing in Canada Life With Zaki interviews provide formal media consent prior to recording.

By participating, individuals grant Canada Life With Zaki a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable right to:

  • Record and reproduce their likeness, voice, and statements

  • Edit and adapt recorded materials

  • Distribute content across digital platforms including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and the official website

  • Use excerpts for marketing, promotional campaigns, and commercial distribution

  • Archive content permanently as part of the historical documentary record

Participation does not entitle individuals to financial compensation unless agreed in a separate written contract.

5. Legal Disclaimer & Limitations

The narratives shared on Canada Life With Zaki are for documentary and storytelling purposes only.

They do not constitute legal, immigration, financial, or professional advice.

Canada Life With Zaki and its Producer are not responsible for:

  • The accuracy of participant statements

  • Decisions made by viewers based on published content

  • Financial, legal, or personal outcomes arising from reliance on the material presented

Participants are solely responsible for the factual accuracy of their statements

6. Updates to Policy

Canada Life With Zaki reserves the right to monetize its content through:

  • Advertising revenue

  • Sponsorship agreements

  • Brand partnerships

  • Licensing arrangements

  • Promotional campaigns

  • Paid distribution opportunities

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, participants are not entitled to revenue sharing.

Separate commercial agreements may be established with select participants where mutually agreed in writing.

Legal Compliance & Rights

These terms govern the relationship between our platform and those who contribute their stories to our documentary archives, ensuring a clear understanding of media rights and participant protections.

Consent and Platform Usage

By engaging with Canada Life With Zaki, you enter a binding agreement with our Ontario-based media platform. Use of our services confirms your absolute acceptance of our standards regarding intellectual property, participant media releases, content monetization, and privacy. If these terms are not acceptable to you, please refrain from using the platform.

Media & Participant Policy

All participants provide informed consent prior to recording. By participating, you grant Canada Life With Zaki a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to record, reproduce, and edit your likeness and voice. This includes the right to distribute content across all digital platforms (YouTube, social media, etc.) and use materials for promotional and commercial purposes. We reserve the right to monetize this content via ads, sponsorships, and licensing without further payment to participants. Records are stored in a permanent archive for historical and documentary purposes. Participation is voluntary and does not entitle individuals to financial compensation unless stated in a separate written contract.

Content Finality & Removal

Canada Life With Zaki recognizes that circumstances may change and that participants may request updates, context adjustments, or removal of their stories. All requests are reviewed in good faith, and additional information may be requested to assess privacy, safety, or significant personal concerns.

As this project operates as a long-term public documentary archive of immigrant experiences, removal or modification of content after publication cannot be assured. Content may have already been distributed, shared, archived, or reproduced across platforms beyond the direct control of the project. The integrity of the documentary record and the realities of public distribution are key factors in all decisions.

Where appropriate, alternatives such as contextual updates, clarifications, or limited modifications may be considered instead of full removal.

All decisions regarding content remain at the sole editorial discretion of Canada Life With Zaki, with consideration given to both individual concerns and the preservation of the archive as a whole.

Ownership & Intellectual Property

All documentary footage, photography, and digital assets are the exclusive intellectual property of Canada Life With Zaki. Unauthorized reproduction or commercial use of our materials is strictly prohibited. While we implement safeguards to protect participant data in accordance with Canadian privacy laws, the nature of documentary work involves the public sharing of personal narratives which become part of a permanent public archive.

Content is shared for storytelling and documentary purposes only and does not constitute professional, legal, or financial advice. Participants are solely responsible for the factual accuracy of their own statements. Canada Life With Zaki is not liable for outcomes or decisions made by viewers based on the presented narratives. We reserve the right to update these policies periodically to reflect changes in production or legal requirements.

Intellectual Property & Media Policy

Ownership of Documentary Content

All documentary footage, interviews, cinematic works, photography, raw recordings, edited productions, written materials, music elements, graphics, and digital assets published under Canada Life With Zaki are the exclusive intellectual property of Canada Life With Zaki Media (the “Producer”), unless otherwise explicitly stated in writing.

This ownership includes both raw and edited materials created for the series.

All rights are reserved under applicable Canadian and international copyright laws.

Usage Restrictions & Licensing

Content is made available for personal, non-commercial viewing only.

No individual or entity may reproduce, download, redistribute, publicly screen, edit, mirror, republish, or commercially exploit any documentary material without prior written authorization.

Canada Life With Zaki Media reserves the right to:

  • License content to third parties

  • Enter distribution agreements

  • Authorize public screenings

  • Create derivative works

  • Monetize content through advertising, sponsorship, brand partnerships, and licensing arrangements

All licensing requests must be submitted in writing.

Trademarks & Brand Identity

The name “Canada Life With Zaki,” associated logos, visual identity elements, slogans, and branding assets are proprietary brand assets of Canada Life With Zaki Media.

Unauthorized use of these marks for promotion, commercial association, endorsement claims, or misleading affiliation is strictly prohibited.

User-Generated Material

By submitting stories, comments, feedback, or other materials to Canada Life With Zaki, you grant Canada Life With Zaki Media a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to:

  • Use, reproduce, adapt, edit, publish, and distribute such materials

  • Incorporate submissions into documentary content or promotional materials

  • Archive submissions for historical or editorial purposes

You represent and warrant that any submitted material does not infringe on the rights of any third party and does not contain defamatory, unlawful, or misleading content.

Canada Life With Zaki Media reserves the right to remove or decline any submission at its sole discretion.

This includes the right to retain, archive, and publicly present content as part of an evolving documentary record.

  • Use, reproduce, edit, adapt, translate, and publish submitted materials

  • Incorporate submissions into documentary productions

  • Create derivative works or promotional content

  • Distribute and monetize such materials across digital platforms

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to submit the material

  • The submission does not infringe upon third-party rights

  • The material is not defamatory, unlawful, or misleading

Canada Life With Zaki Media reserves the right to decline or remove submissions at its sole discretion.

Third-party Content

Certain documentary segments may include licensed archival materials, third-party media assets, or content used under fair dealing provisions of Canadian copyright law.

All third-party content remains the property of its respective rights holders.

Canada Life With Zaki Media is not responsible for external redistribution, misuse, or unauthorized reproduction of such materials by users.

Any reuse of third-party content requires direct authorization from the original rights holder.

By participating, individuals grant Canada Life With Zaki Media a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to:

  • Record and reproduce their likeness, voice, and statements
  • Edit, subtitle, translate, and adapt content
  • Distribute content across digital platforms including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and the official website
  • Use excerpts, promotional clips, thumbnails, and derivative works for marketing and commercial purposes
  • Monetize content through advertising revenue, sponsorship agreements, brand partnerships, licensing arrangements, and other commercial models
  • Archive content permanently as part of the documentary record

Participation does not entitle individuals to financial compensation unless explicitly agreed in a separate written agreement.

Any defamatory, discriminatory, or unlawful commentary toward participants will result in removal and potential restriction.

3. Intellectual Property

All documentary footage, interviews, B-roll, audio recordings, written materials, graphics, branding assets, and digital productions are the exclusive intellectual property of Canada Life With Zaki Media.

All final editorial decisions — including editing, titling, formatting, thumbnail design, distribution strategy, and promotional use — remain solely at the discretion of the Producer.

Unauthorized reproduction, downloading, redistribution, public screening, commercial exploitation, or derivative use without prior written authorization is strictly prohibited.
